Woodlands of Ireland is a not-for-profit Charity dedicated to native woodlands. It is an inclusive organisation whose primary objectives are: to generate awareness of native woodlands among policy makers and the general public to develop projects and sustainable management strategies aimed at ensuring the future viability of native woodlands Both objectives are often addressed together in a partnership format, especially through the implementation of flagship woodland projects, training courses, technical publications <woodlandsofireland.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=30174018a13c9c9d01ed4845e&id=516d972efe&e=e99f7ac9c4>, policy development and the provision of support at local level.
Woodlands of Ireland became a Company Limited by Guarantee in 2011 with charitable status in 2013. Since then it has put in place policies to comply with the Charity Regulator and Company Law. This includes GDPR and the Charity Regulators Governance code. As a result, there is no longer a requirement for Woodlands of Ireland to have paid up members. However, in keeping with the ethos of Woodlands of Ireland and the involvement of its stakeholders on an ongoing basis, we will host a ‘Supporters Day’ annually to inform participants of our current work plan for the upcoming year and the past year’s activities.
